Saturday. 19/09/2015. 'Philly Style Cheese Hot Dogs.'

This recipe is from 'Good Food' September 2015 issue. Page 44.

To be honest this one looked almost like a non cook affair from the magazine picture. It was to be the relaxed grub to sit in front of the TV at the end of the week.

The main difficulty we encountered is that despite having 7 days to find proper hot dog buns we found none in all our supermarkets and locals. I did find that a bit baffling especially after having managed to find harder ingredients earlier this week. I hope that none went stuffy nose on hot dogs. In desperation we went French and went for 'Demi-Baguette', half french sticks to cook in the oven. It added a crust rather than a soft bun but it worked into giving a substantial meal.

The star of the show in that dish are the chipolatas simply roasted along with the peppers, onions and garlics.

Not difficult to do, chopping peppers might be the hardest thing to do: smile. We had one green pepper from the garden and one yellow one from the market to use. It did the job to bring some veg into that 'dog' of a Saturday sandwich.

As for the Philly cheese, we used our fav at home, 'Philadelphia'. Their flavour with black pepper and spring onions has been one of our staples for toasts throughout the summer.

So for the result of that very filling dog: It was nice, good, but not a mind blower. It's the nice grub you grab when you want a slight rest and have a laid back night. It reached a three star, we will have to be lazy to do it again.
